Booking a first chiropractic appointment can feel like a step into the unknown. Here's exactly what happens, how long it takes and what it costs.
What Happens
History
We talk through your symptoms, how long you've had them, your health background and what you want to get back to.
Examination
Range of motion, orthopaedic and neurological tests, and a posture and movement assessment.
Findings
We explain what we found, what it means and your options.
Treatment
If care is appropriate and you're happy to go ahead, we can start treatment on the day.
Fees
Health fund rebates are available with chiropractic extras cover. Medicare EPC (care plan) patients are welcome; you pay the gap.
Your Second Visit
At your second visit we go through your findings in more detail, answer your questions and agree on a plan: how often to come in, what to do at home, and how we'll measure progress.
You're welcome to bring a partner or friend to this appointment.
Before you come in
- Arrive 10 minutes early for your new patient form
- Bring any recent scans or reports
- Bring your Medicare care plan referral, if you have one
- Wear comfortable clothing

How long is the first visit?
Allow about 45 minutes. Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill in your new patient form.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in. We may ask you to bend, turn and do simple movement tests.
Do I need a referral?
No. Chiropractors are primary healthcare practitioners, so you can book directly. If you have a Medicare care plan (EPC) from your GP, bring the referral.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. You are welcome to bring a partner, friend or family member to any appointment.
