Headaches and Migraines
Not all headaches are the same. We work out whether your neck is contributing and build a plan around what we find.
About Headaches and Migraines
Cervicogenic headaches start in the neck and are often felt on one side, at the back of the head, or behind the eye. They tend to be worse with neck movement or sustained postures.
Tension-type headaches feel like a band or pressure around the head and often come with neck and shoulder tightness.
Migraine is a neurological condition, often with throbbing pain, nausea and sensitivity to light.
Common signs
- Headaches that start at the base of the skull
- Headaches that get worse with neck movement or desk work
- Neck and shoulder tightness with headaches
- Reduced neck movement
How We Can Help
For headaches linked to the neck, care centres on chiropractic adjustments to the neck and upper back to improve movement and ease tension.
We combine adjustments with exercises for the deep neck muscles, and advice on posture breaks, sleep and other triggers.
